Job summary

Habasit France in Mulhouse seeks an experienced industrial application engineer to support customers and sales teams in identifying and implementing optimal belt solutions. You will design applications, run field tests, and train customers.

Support customers and sales teams in identifying, designing, and implementing optimal solutions for complex conveyor belts, in line with the company’s and the Group’s strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support on belts and applications to customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders, both in-field and on-the-phone.
• Support in design and recommend application solutions that improve customer performance and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with sales teams to identify and develop growth opportunities.
• Support customer visits, technical audits, field testing, installations, and troubleshooting activities.
• Manage engineering projects, ensuring timely execution and customer satisfaction.
• Create complex belt configurations.
• Deliver technical training to customers and the commercial team.
• Analyze field issues, conduct root-cause investigations, and implement corrective actions.
• Contribute to product improvement initiatives by sharing market and application insights.
• Maintain expertise in Habasit products, market applications, and competitive solutions.

What we look for

• Engineering Degree, or equivalent technical background (e.g. Mechanical, Industrial, or a related discipline).
• Strong technical experience in industrial application engineering, preferably within belting or related industrial solutions.
• Experience with mechanical design, technical problem solving, and customer-facing activities.
• Additional experience in project, product, or line engineering is an asset.
• Excellent ability to analyse complex issues, identify root causes, and propose concrete and pragmatic solutions.
• Ability to work directly on-site and collaborate with our clients’ maintenance and production teams, as well as their technical managers.
• Proficiency with IT tools and experience working with an ERP system, ideally SAP.
• Business-level English proficiency to communicate with the group’s teams and access technical documentation.
