Global banking group in Paris is seeking an associate level energy derivatives trader to deliver bespoke gas and power trading solutions through hedging and price management for a growing corporate and institutional client base in the EU.

The role sits within the energy trading desk of the group’s wider European commodities strategy and involves collaboration with Global counterparts in the Middle East, Asia Pacific and North America.

Qualifications

• 4+ years gas and power trading experience with corporate/institutional clients.
• Experience across wider commodities (metals, agriculture) is a plus.
• Understanding of major gas/power contracts and European hubs is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Support portfolio structuring and portfolio optimisation.
• Collaborate with sales, quantitative and trading teams on energy client offerings.
• Assist hedging and price management for corporate and institutional clients.

We are currently partnering with the financial markets arm of this leading Global banking group in their search for an associate level energy derivatives trader in Paris.

The key focus will be on delivering bespoke gas and power trading solutions through effective hedging and price management to a growing corporate and institutional client pool within the European Union.

This is an integral role and part of the group’s wider, European commodities strategy. The successful candidate will also work closely with Global counterparts in the Middle East, Asia Pacific and North America.

As part of your role, you will be expected to help support portfolio structuring, portfolio optimisation, sales and quantitative teams as part of the energy client offering.

Skills Required

• 4 years + gas and power proprietary or flow trading experience across a corporate and institutional client portfolio (industrials, infrastructure, transportation, hedge funds, boutique traders)
• Our client are also willing to consider candidates with trading experience across the wider commodities spectrum - industrial metals, agriculture, especially if the candidate has worked within commodity solutions at a bank
• Understanding of EEX and ICE gas and power contracts is an advantage
• Exposure to or understanding of major European gas hubs - TTF, THE, CZ, PEG, PSV, PVB is an advantage.
