Reporting to the Regional General Counsel – EMEA, you will be a trusted business partner to stakeholders across multiple EMEA markets, working most closely with our FCM and FCM Meetings & Events brands.
This is a rare opportunity to join a dynamic regional legal function operating out of London while being based in our Paris office.
As Legal Counsel – EMEA, you will work across various FCTG brands, providing high-quality legal support in a fast-paced, international environment. Your focus will be leading legal support for France, Spain and Switzerland, while also collaborating with the wider EMEA legal team across other key European markets, including the Nordics and Germany.
You will work directly with senior decision makers, gaining deep insight into FCTG’s commercial objectives, risk appetite and strategic priorities.
Commercial Contracting
Draft, review and negotiate client contracts for global/national travel management services across FCTG brands (e.g., FCM, FCM Meetings & Events).
Negotiate supplier contracts (airlines, hotels, IT vendors, consultants, DMCs, employee benefits providers).
Prepare NDAs, term sheets, letters of intent, facility/loan documents and manage DocuSign processes.
Potential involvement in contract management tools (e.g., iCertis).
Travel Law & Regulatory Advice
Advise on applicable travel regulations, including IATA requirements.
Corporate & Company Secretarial
Draft intercompany loan agreements, corporate authorisations and maintain corporate registers.
Litigation Management
Advise on disputes, negotiate with counterparties and instruct external counsel where appropriate.
Conduct contractual interpretation, risk analysis and provide options papers to management.
Data Protection & Security
Support Data Protection and Client Information Security teams in risk mitigation and contractual compliance.
Act as the local point of reference for topics such as sanctions and whistleblowing.
Employment Law
Support HR with queries relating to IP assignment, TUPE and equality matters.
Process Improvement
Draft precedents, build contract playbooks and deliver training to commercial teams to enhance efficiency across EMEA.
Required
1–5 years’ experience as an in-house legal counsel.
Strong commercial contracting experience (private practice commercial team experience or in-house secondment welcome).
Ability to manage multiple workstreams with competing priorities.
Commercially pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; organised, curious and self-reliant.
Master’s degree in commercial and/or corporate law.
Ability to draft, review and negotiate contracts in French, English and Spanish.
Preferred
Travel law experience (not mandatory).
Experience in M&A/Corporate or general Commercial law.
German language skills are a plus.
