Job summary

Infinite Orbits in Toulouse is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer specialized in space applications to help set up a new workshop. You will develop software for a real onboard computer using C and Rust, aligned with ECSS and ISO 9001 practices.

You will implement PUS 1 and PUS 17, write Python test tools, integrate onto target hardware, and validate with real equipment and simulations. Professional English is required; French nationality is required due to restricted-access projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in embedded software development.
• Strong command of C programming.
• Experience with Rust is highly valued.
• Strong Python skills for automation and testing.
• Experience with embedded microprocessors/MCUs.
• Experience with cross-compilation and integration on real targets.
• Knowledge of CCSDS/ECSS/PUS standards is a plus.
• Professional-level English; French nationality is required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze interfaces and constraints of the onboard computer.
• Define software architecture for the project.
• Implement PUS 1 and PUS 17 services.
• Develop functions in C and/or Rust as defined by the workshop.
• Create test tools and scripts in Python.
• Integrate software onto the target computer and perform first functional tests on hardware.
• Diagnose and fix issues quickly.
• Work as one of the first users of the new development workshop.
