Job summary

Betclic Group is seeking a Security Engineer to join its Global Security team in Bordeaux. You will embed within squads responsible for authentication, identity and payment journeys, and work across design, implementation and testing to deliver secure, reliable experiences.

You will perform secure design reviews, threat modeling, and pragmatic security testing, promoting secure practices and collaboration with product and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in cybersecurity, focusing on securing applications or digital products.
• Experience working with Product and Engineering teams in an agile environment.
• Understand security principles behind modern authentication and identity systems.
• Proactive and able to identify, propose and drive security improvements.
• Able to communicate effectively with developers, architects, product managers and business stakeholders.
• Fluent in English.
• Interest in payment security and fraud prevention; prior experience not required.
• Experience with web and API security; cloud experience with AWS or Azure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Developers, Architects, Product Managers and Engineering Managers within squads.
• Conduct secure design reviews and threat modeling for new projects, providing pragmatic security recommendations.
• Assess existing implementations, including source code, APIs and security controls, to identify vulnerabilities and improvement opportunities.
• Identify attack paths affecting critical user journeys and validate them through controlled security testing or PoCs.
• Promote secure development practices and reusable security patterns; support teams in implementing security improvements.
• Propose, lead and contribute to security initiatives across authentication and payment ecosystems.
• Collaborate with the wider Security organization, including Blue/Red Teams, Compliance and Fraud teams.
