Job summary

Socomec in Huttenheim is seeking a power electronics engineer to contribute to the design, development and maintenance of innovative power converters and their electronic systems, participating in the full product lifecycle.

You will collaborate with international teams across France, Italy, Canada and China, and work under a development manager in a multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering or Master 2 in electronic/electrical engineering required.
• Initial successful experience—in internships or work-study—in power electronics or electronics development essential.

Job description

As part of the business development team and reporting to the business development manager, you will contribute to the design, development, and operational maintenance of innovative power converters and their associated electronic systems. You will participate in the entire product lifecycle, from design through in-service monitoring, in an international and multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out development, analysis, or enhancement work on electrical systems under the functional guidance of a design leader or TPM.
• Design PCBA integrated into power modules (>200 kW) for power conversion, power supply, control, microcontroller integration, HMIs, and filtering.
• Design and qualify electrical systems for thermal, electrical, EMC, robustness, and functional aspects.
• Contribute to the creation of coherent and sustainable electronic architectures and electrical engineering topologies.
• Participate in forward-looking projects that enable the introduction of new technologies.
• Apply design rules and contribute to their evolution.
• Ensure the quality of deliverables and the soundness of technical decisions.
• Contribute to knowledge management and technology monitoring in your field.

As part of your role, you will work closely with various development teams in France, Italy, Canada, and China (mechanical engineering, firmware, and lab), as well as with project, procurement, marketing, manufacturing, quality, and R&D teams, and with customers and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (Bac+5) in engineering or a Master 2 in electronic or electrical engineering
• Initial successful experience—including internships or work-study programs—in power electronics or electronics development is essential
• Fluency in French and English, minimum C1 level, is required given the international nature of the position
