INOCEL is seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer to help advance the electrical architecture of its next‑generation hydrogen power systems. You will work on connecting the fuel cell module, PCU, energy storage, BoP, cooling, and plant control in a safe, reliable stationary solution.

Based in France with sites in Belfort, Grenoble, and Cannes, you will collaborate with mechanical, controls, thermal, system, testing, and supplier teams to design, integrate, and validate electrical systems while

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in electrical system design for industrial equipment.
  • Experience with generator sets, renewable energy, electrical distribution, and battery energy storage systems (BESS) is highly desirable.
  • Experience with hydrogen systems or fuel cells is a plus.

Responsabilités

  • Define and maintain the electrical architecture of the fuel cell power generation system, including the Power Conversion Unit, fuel cell module, energy storage system, Balance of Plant, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Design electrical wiring architecture, cable routing, harnesses, power distribution, protection devices, grounding, and electrical interfaces.
  • Specify and select key electrical equipment, including power converters, inverters, DC/DC converters, contactors, circuit breakers, sensors, power supplies, transformers, and energy storage components.
  • Define electrical interfaces with the PLC, HMI, power electronics, cooling system, instrumentation, and customer installation.
  • Prepare electrical schematics, interface documentation, electrical specifications, and Bills of Materials.
  • Support supplier selection, review technical proposals, and validate compliance with project requirements.
  • Participate in equipment integration, commissioning, system validation, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety, EMC, insulation coordination, grounding, and applicable international standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of electrical integration practices, reliability, and product performance.

Today, we are strengthening our expertise and recruiting an Electrical Systems Engineer W/M

As part of our R&D Engineering team, you will contribute to the development of the electrical architecture of our next-generation Fuel Cell power generation systems.

You will be responsible for the design and integration of the electrical systems that connect the fuel cell module, Power Conversion Unit (PCU), energy storage system, Balance of Plant (BoP), cooling system, and plant control system into a safe, reliable, and high-performance stationary power solution.

We are looking for an Electrical Systems Engineer with experience in stationary power systems, generator sets (gensets), industrial automation, power conversion equipment, renewable energy systems, or industrial electrical equipment.

Working in a multidisciplinary environment, you will collaborate closely with mechanical, controls, thermal, system, testing, and manufacturing teams, as well as external suppliers, throughout the complete product development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and maintain the electrical architecture of the fuel cell power generation system, including the Power Conversion Unit, fuel cell module, energy storage system, Balance of Plant, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Design electrical wiring architecture, cable routing, harnesses, power distribution, protection devices, grounding, and electrical interfaces.
  • Specify and select key electrical equipment, including power converters, inverters, DC/DC converters, contactors, circuit breakers, sensors, power supplies, transformers, and energy storage components.
  • Define electrical interfaces with the PLC, HMI, power electronics, cooling system, instrumentation, and customer installation.
  • Prepare electrical schematics, interface documentation, electrical specifications, and Bills of Materials.

Profile
Education
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Mechatronics, Energy Systems, or a related engineering discipline.
Experience
  • 5–10 years of experience in electrical system design and integration for industrial or stationary equipment.
  • Experience in generator sets, industrial automation, power conversion, renewable energy, electrical distribution, battery energy storage systems (BESS), or similar industries is highly desirable.
  • Experience with fuel cells or hydrogen systems is considered a plus.
Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems and industrial power distribution.
  • Experience with electrical architecture, wiring design, cable sizing, protection coordination, grounding, and EMC.
  • Familiarity with power electronics integration (inverters, converters, rectifiers, UPS, energy storage systems).
  • Understanding of PLC interfaces, industrial instrumentation, and industrial communication protocols such as CAN, Modbus TCP/IP, and Ethernet.
  • Ability to read and produce electrical schematics using tools such as EPLAN, SEE Electrical, AutoCAD Electrical, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of applicable standards for industrial electrical equipment and machine safety.
Personal Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a systems engineering mindset.
  • Autonomous, organized, and comfortable working in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication skills with international suppliers and technical partners.
  • Fluent English is required; French is a plus.
