Job description

The Electrical Engineer oversees the installation, testing and commissioning of all electrical systems on our data center projects, in line with project specifications, French regulations and industry standards, and is the technical link between the French site team and our Portugal-based colleagues.

CTS Europe France is a small team (six people in the French office) backed by CTS Group, a 2,500-person organisation with almost ten years of data center delivery. The day-to-day feel is close to a start-up – short decision lines, broad scope, processes being built – but with the accountability of a subsidiary: existing clients and partners, Group standards and accounts to give back to the Group.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer include:

  • Review and interpret electrical design drawings, specifications and schedules.
  • Act as the day-to-day technical interface with our Portugal-based teams: coordinate drawings, submittals, technical queries, materials and mobilised crews, and keep information flowing both ways.
  • Supervise installation of HV/LV systems, UPS, generators, PDUs, fire alarms, lighting, BMS and earthing.
  • Ensure works meet timelines, budgets and quality standards; report progress and resolve site issues promptly.
  • Conduct and witness testing and commissioning of electrical systems.
  • Ensure compliance with NF C 15-100, NF C 13-100/13-200, IEC standards and electrical authorisations (NF C 18-510).
  • Manage site safety with the Project Director and CTS Safety Officer, including the safety file from set-up to close-out.
  • Manage site QA with the CTS QA Manager, including the quality file from set-up to close-out.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants and the bureau de contrôle on electrical progress and issues.
  • Prepare O&M documentation and as-built drawings (DOE).
  • Attend site, engineering, planning, coordination and handover meetings.
  • Support and coach junior engineers on the project team.
Team Spirit
  • Promotes best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contributes to a collaborative, high-performance and client-focused project culture.
HSE Leadership
  • Respects the processes and practices of CTS EUROPE FRANCE.
  • Applies the CTS EUROPE FRANCE HSE policy and, more generally, French labour law (Code du travail).
Authorities
  • Approves electrical work permits, RAMS and test results within the project delegation.
  • Can stop non-compliant or unsafe electrical works.
Education
  • Engineering degree (diplôme d'ingénieur / Master) in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • French: native or professional working proficiency.
  • English: professional working proficiency; Portuguese is a strong plus.
Functional Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of power distribution, standby power, critical and control systems.
  • Strong understanding of commissioning and the data center project life cycle.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks and MS Office.
Experience Requirements
  • 5+ years of electrical engineering in large-scale construction.
  • Data center or mission-critical project experience highly desirable.
  • Experience working with remote or international teams is a plus.
Soft Skills
  • Organised and rigorous.
  • Strong communicator with site teams and remote colleagues.
  • Coach and mentor to junior engineers.
  • Flexible and mobile.
Additional Details
  • Start date: End of October 2026
  • First assignment: data center project in North of France, 12 to 18 months, followed by further projects in France.
  • While deployed on site: accommodation and meals covered by the company.
  • Travel expenses paid.
