CHANEL Tech Europe is strengthening its Product organisation as part of the House’s digital transformation and the acceleration of its eCommerce, mCommerce and omnichannel initiatives. Reporting to the E-Commerce & E-service Program Manager, and working closely with the eCommerce Product Manager within the Digital team, Global IT teams, European market IT teams, technology partners and the IT teams across CHANEL’s three Divisions, the E-commerce Product Owner will help establish a sustainable eCommerce product governance model across Europe and support the continued growth of CHANEL’s digital platforms.
The E-commerce Product Owner plays a central role at the intersection of the House’s key priorities: client experience and the staff day-to-day experiences in boutiques and warehouses. The role will contribute to modernising the eCommerce ecosystem, reducing its complexity and strengthening the consistency of client journeys.
In close partnership with the eCommerce Product Managers, the E-commerce Product Owner drives the technology vision and roadmap for their product scope. The role translates business and digital ambitions into concrete product capabilities.
Drive the technology vision and roadmap for eCommerce and mCommerce products
In partnership with the eCommerce Product Managers, you will drive the technology vision and roadmap for the eCommerce and mCommerce products within your scope. You will translate business and product ambitions into tangible, coherent, feasible and delivery-ready capabilities, aligned with the needs of European markets, CHANEL’s Global Digital strategy and the ambitions of the House’s three Divisions. You will assess the value, effort, risks and dependencies associated with each initiative to inform prioritisation and trade-off decisions.
Structure discovery, the product backlog and functional definition
You will structure, maintain and prioritise an IT backlog aligned with the Product roadmap. You will support the Product Managers throughout discovery phases, gathering, analysing and challenging the needs of markets, business teams and support functions. You will translate these needs into epics, features, user stories, business rules and acceptance criteria. From the earliest stages of scoping, you will identify dependencies, integration constraints, security requirements and operational impacts, including infrastructure, network and equipment considerations.
Ensure functional coherence across the eCommerce ecosystem
You will ensure the functional and technological coherence of eCommerce and omnichannel journeys within your scope. You will map and manage dependencies across the eCommerce ecosystem, connecting product, client, order, payment, logistics and data capabilities with the platforms and integration services that enable them. Working closely with cross-functional IT domains—including Architecture, Data, Security, Operations and Integration—you will assess feasibility, identify dependencies and shape the technology trajectory of product evolutions. Within your scope, you will contribute to initiatives aimed at simplifying, modernising, migrating and evolving the eCommerce technology stack.
Enable quality delivery and product adoption
You prepare the required deliverables and ensure the availability of the clarifications, decisions and specifications needed for delivery. You will take part in agile ceremonies and prioritise deliveries according to value, urgency, risk, quality and delivery capacity. You will validate functional deliverables, coordinate functional testing and support go-lives. You will identify the change-management support required to enable successful adoption, including documentation, operational support and communications.
Foster alignment through product governance and cross-functional leadership
You will lead the rituals, workshops and working sessions required to manage your product scope effectively. You will facilitate alignment between European, Global, Digital, Business, IT, Retail and partner teams. You will provide clear reporting on progress, delivered value, risks and dependencies. You will identify blockers and misalignments, and propose appropriate resolution options. You will demonstrate functional leadership through collaboration, influence, clear communication and a results-oriented mindset. Your scope will evolve in line with business and programme priorities and may include:
YOU ARE ENERGISED BY Creating clarity and momentum across a complex eCommerce and omnichannel ecosystem. Turning ambitious business priorities into scalable technology product capabilities. Collaborating across markets, Divisions, Digital, IT, Retail and technology partners. Improving the experiences of clients and operational teams through simpler, more connected platforms.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the transformation and modernisation of CHANEL’s eCommerce and omnichannel ecosystem across Europe. You will work at the crossroads of digital, technology, Retail and operations, collaborating with European markets, Global teams, the House’s three Divisions and strategic technology partners. You will develop a broad understanding of CHANEL’s digital commerce landscape while contributing to high-impact initiatives across eCommerce, mCommerce, Order Management, omnichannel journeys, data, logistics and client experience. You will have the opportunity to strengthen your product leadership in a demanding international environment, while helping shape more consistent, scalable and future-ready experiences for clients and the staff in boutiques & warehouses.
