Inserm France invites applications for a fixed-term research position focused on fundamental skeletal muscle biology. The project will examine molecular mechanisms controlling local protein synthesis at the myotendinous junction and perform transcriptomic characterization of muscle cell maturation in vitro.
Activities include generating mouse mutants, analyzing the local translatome, performing biochemical identifications using affinity-tagged UTRs, and presenting results at meetings and
Research will be in the field of fundamental skeletal muscle biology and will consist of two complementary scientific axes:(1) investigation of the molecular mechanisms controlling local protein synthesis at the muscle-tendon junction, and (2) transcriptomic characterization of the maturation of skeletal muscle cells generated in vitro.
Main Activities
Myotendinous junction (MTJ) is a mechanical buffer of the skeletal muscle cell and prone site to injury upon exercise. Our lab recently developed a new tool to manipulate the MTJ domain and revealed its local translational program as well as how it rewires after exercise. However, the molecular mechanism by which this special translation program is achieved remains unknown. The student will take both candidate and unbiased approaches to address this problem.
