Job summary

Airbotics Talent is partnering with a well-funded European maritime robotics company to hire a Director of Electronics Engineering, based in Brittany or Paris, with travel as needed.

You will own electronics architecture and end-to-end development, driving analog, digital and power electronics, PCB design in Altium, and cross-functional collaboration to bring devices from prototype to industrialised production. Equity and relocation support are on offer.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of electronics engineering experience within robotics or other complex electromechanical environments.
• Hands-on analog, digital and mixed-signal design experience, including sensing and signal acquisition.
• Strong Altium Designer capability and circuit simulation experience.
• Experience taking PCB designs through schematic, layout, bring-up and validation within an integrated system.
• Knowledge of embedded hardware, microcontrollers, DC/AC interfaces and EMC/EMI design practices.
• Experience leading electronics beyond prototype into industrialisation and production.
• Previous engineering leadership experience collaborating with mechanical and software teams.

Responsibilities

• Own electronics end-to-end from architecture through PCB design, bring-up, validation and production readiness.
• Define electronics architecture balancing power, performance, reliability and integration.
• Design analog, digital, mixed-signal and power electronics including sensor interfaces and ADC chains.
• Schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer.
• Develop power conversion, motor drive and switching systems with thermal management.
• Simulate and validate designs using LTspice, PLECS or Simulink.
• Lead bench bring-up, debugging and system integration and field testing.
• Design for EMC/EMI, grounding, shielding in harsh environments.
• Drive DFM/DFA and production test readiness; collaborate with mechanical, embedded software and autonomy teams.
• Build and lead the electronics team, including FPGA capability, and establish design standards.
