Capsugel | Lonza, based at the Colmar site in France, seeks a Director to lead Global CAPEX Strategy & Execution. You will oversee a global CAPEX portfolio, collaborate with sites and finance, and guide large capital projects from concept through execution.

Ideal candidates have an Engineering degree with Finance/Economics, strong CAPEX project leadership, and experience in complex matrix environments. Travel up to 25% is required as part of global coordination.

Qualifications

• University degree in Engineering with Finance/Economics knowledge.
• Experience coordinating and leading significant CAPEX or strategic investment projects.
• Comfortable working in a complex, fast-paced matrix environment with multiple stakeholders and priorities.
• Strong experience reviewing business cases and contributing to new business models or approaches that leverage existing and new assets.
• Proven track record of driving projects to completion and overcoming obstacles to achieve successful outcomes.
• Availability to travel within the network up to 25% of the time.

Responsabilités

• Work closely with sites, finance and relevant functions to develop and manage long term CAPEX relevant strategic initiatives.
• Lead large CAPEX projects through the Concept Phase, ensuring strong alignment with key functions before transitioning project leadership to the site project engineering teams. Continue as a steering team member and provide directional oversite to the E2E leader and/or project manager through project execution.
• Manage the budget allocated for Capsugel and coordination of CAPEX plan development and CAPEX approvals. This includes the governance of monthly alignment with the LT for upcoming investments and overall division spending. Follow up with site CAPEX managers and site controllers.
• Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders around large CAPEX investments. Provide regular updates to management and collaborate with internal partners.
• Execute governance around the CAPEX approval process and develop required reporting documentation; steering committee meetings, Capital Approval Committee meetings, approval presentations, approval documents, etc. to ensure continuity across the organization

The actual location of this job is in Colmar, France. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families, if needed.

The Director, Global CAPEX Strategy & Execution will be responsible for directional oversight of all large capex investments and managing Capsugel’s global CAPEX portfolio.

This role requires a blend of technical knowledge of the platform, project management skills, and commercial/financial expertise. The role would report into the Vice President Operations and be located at the Colmar site.

Additionally, the ability to adapt quickly and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment is crucial.

The full-time annual base pay for this position in France is expected to range between 85’000 EUR and 123’900 EUR. Initial salary placement within this range will be determined based on role‑related actors such as experience, qualifications, and expected contribution.
