Columbia University Libraries seeks a dynamic leader to serve as the Director of Digital Library and Scholarly Technologies (DLST). The Director will guide strategic vision, prioritize systems, and supervise a team of roughly 13 staff with 3–4 direct reports, advancing digital library and scholarly technology services for Columbia affiliates and the global scholarly community.

Reporting to the AVP for Technology and Preservation, the DLST director collaborates with campus partners, pursues

Qualifications

• MLS or advanced degree in related field.
• Knowledge of library digital technology systems and services.
• Knowledge of digital library standards, practices and technologies.
• Ability to plan and implement new end-user systems.
• Experience in staff management and development.
• Significant technology implementation management experience.

Responsabilités

• Leads a team of approximately 13 staff (3-4 direct reports).
• Advances Digital Collections programs and services; oversees digitization, preservation, born-digital and archival technologies.
• Collaborates with library and campus partners to deliver programs and services, including the Academic Commons repository, journal publishing, and research data services.
• Plans for new and enhanced AI-based scholarly communications solutions and services.
• Pursues external funding (grants, foundations, donors) to enhance digital libraries and scholarly technologies.
• Represents the Libraries to campus, regional and national discussions of digital library development and standards.
