Salem Leasing is seeking Diesel Mechanics to repair trucks, trailers, and other vehicles, reflecting our commitment to people and transportation excellence. You will examine vehicles, repair brakes, and perform routine maintenance as part of a busy shop with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year recent medium/heavy diesel maintenance experience.
• Must have own hand tools.
• Basic computer skills required.
• CDL license preferred.
• Good driving record & proven work history.
• Must be able to work in extreme heat & cold temperatures.
• Diagnostic experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions.
• Repair, reline, replace & adjust brakes.
• Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors.
• Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined & other potentially troublesome areas.
• Plan work procedures using charts, technical manuals & experience.
• Communicate with driver to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems.
• Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services.
• Repair manual & automatic transmissions.
• Replace & adjust headlights.
• Comply with all safety, DOT & OSHA guidelines.
• Adhere to company rules & regulations.
• Ensure cleanliness of shop & surrounding areas.

Skills
