Heniff Transportation Systems is seeking a Diesel Truck Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repair on tractors and trailers in accordance with DOT regulations and company standards. Responsibilities include testing, internal/external inspections, and ensuring safety and compliance across equipment fleets.

The role requires knowledge of diesel engines, inspection equipment, and ability to use diagnostic software.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with cargo tank inspection equipment.
• Knowledge of DOT HM180.407 standards.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.

Responsabilités

• Diagnose and repair tractors and trailers.
• Perform annual 90-day inspections to meet FHWA standards.
• Inspect cargo tanks: internal/external tests and vapor tightness (EPA Method 27).
• Assess mechanical condition and initiate repairs.
• Replace worn or damaged parts with new or reconditioned parts.
• Repair major assemblies and systems (brakes, electrical, hydraulics, etc.).
• Record maintenance in management software.
• Operate yard hostler to move trailers as needed.
• Adhere to OSHA and environmental policies.
