Job description

LHH is recruiting on behalf of an industrial client for a permanent Embedded Control Development Engineer position. The client develops technical industrial equipment in which software and hardware work together to deliver reliable, high-performance machine operation.

About The Company

LHH Recruitment Solutions specializes in recruitment, temporary staffing, executive search, career transition, and expert assessment. LHH supports professionals and organizations through important career and workforce decisions, helping candidates identify opportunities that align with their experience and ambitions. This role is with an industrial client operating in a technical, international environment. Further details about the client can be shared during the recruitment process.

About The Role

As an Embedded Control Development Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain embedded software functions for industrial equipment. You will translate functional requirements into control strategies and algorithms, including implementation in C++. Working closely with product engineers, software developers, testers, and other technical teams, you will help ensure that machine behavior meets performance, quality, reliability, and safety expectations. The position also involves testing, troubleshooting, technical documentation, and collaboration with colleagues across sites and international centers of expertise.

Qualifications
  • Experience developing embedded software and applying algorithms and object-oriented programming principles.
  • Proficiency in C++ or a comparable programming environment, with an understanding of real-time systems and software-hardware interfaces.
  • Knowledge of industrial computing and the ability to produce clear, practical technical documentation.
  • Professional English communication skills, including the ability to participate in technical discussions.
  • Familiarity with serial communications, TCP/IP, Linux and Windows, version control, and continuous integration is valuable.
  • Knowledge of automation, electrical or electronic systems, and machine performance and reliability requirements is beneficial.
  • Additional experience in thermodynamics, energy, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, measurement equipment, electromagnetic compatibility, or complex industrial machinery is an asset.

You are organized, rigorous, and comfortable taking ownership of technical topics. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, adaptability, and the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders will help you succeed. Experience working across sites or with international project teams is particularly useful.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain embedded control software for technical industrial equipment.
  • Develop control logic and algorithms that support machine performance, quality, and reliability objectives.
  • Translate functional requirements into software solutions, including C++ code generation.
  • Collaborate with product engineers to align control strategies with product requirements and technical constraints.
  • Contribute to functional test specifications and investigate machine behavior in test laboratories or at customer sites.
  • Analyze issues and recommend practical solutions in coordination with engineering, production, commissioning, and technical support teams.
  • Provide technical support to factory, laboratory, commissioning, and service colleagues.

  • Lead or participate in technical meetings with software development and test teams in an international setting.
  • Coordinate local implementation of software developed by international platforms or centers of expertise.
  • Follow internal development processes and applicable quality, safety, environmental, and machine-safety requirements, while contributing to development schedules.
Benefits

This is a permanent position offering the opportunity to work on technically challenging industrial equipment and contribute across the software development and machine testing lifecycle. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues in an international environment and broaden your expertise in embedded control systems. LHH Recruitment Solutions will support you throughout the recruitment process and provide guidance as you consider your next career step. Specific compensation, benefits, and working arrangements will be discussed during the hiring process.
