Main Mission :
The Product Design Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and developing a team of product designers. You play a strategic role in defining and executing user experiences while guiding teams to deliver innovative, consistent, and user-centered solutions.
Key Responsibilities :
Management and Leadership :
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a team of talented designers
- Provide personalized mentorship to help designers grow professionally and reach their goals
- Establish high standards of quality and ensure they are upheld across all projects
- Foster a collaborative, motivating, and inclusive work environment
Strategy and Vision :
- Define the product design vision and strategy in collaboration with leadership teams
- Ensure that design initiatives align with business objectives and user needs
- Drive the integration of user-centered design principles into the product development process
Coordination and Collaboration :
- Work closely with Product Managers, UX Researchers, Developers, and other stakeholders to ensure design supports product and business goals
- Promote cross-functional collaboration and resolve potential friction points between teams
- Facilitate clear communication of design intent to internal and external stakeholders
Operational Excellence :
- Oversee team deliverables to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with existing guidelines (Design System, UX principles)
- Track projects to ensure timely delivery and achievement of objectives
- Identify pain points in user journeys and propose pragmatic solutions
- Prioritize design initiatives based on resources and strategic priorities
Continuous Improvement :
- Implement processes to enhance team productivity, quality, and collaboration
- Incorporate user feedback and data (qualitative and quantitative) to refine design decisions
- Advocate for the importance of user-centered design across the organization
Skills and Requirements :
Technical :
- Expertise in product design with a strong understanding of UX/UI processes
- Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD)
Leadership :
- Proven experience managing and developing design teams
- Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills
- Strategic vision and ability to effectively prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Interpersonal :
- Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Capacity to influence and advocate for design priorities among diverse stakeholders
- Empathy to understand both user and team needs
