Job summary

Mirakl is seeking a Deputy Accounting Director on a freelance/contractor basis in Paris to lead Accounts Payable and drive end-to-end Procure-to-Pay across the international group. The role requires at least 8 years in accounting/finance operations and experience with multi-entity structures, ensuring close quality and strong internal controls.

About the role

Mirakl is looking for a senior contractor to join its Finance team and provide operational leadership in an international, multi-entity environment.

Reporting to the Accounting & Tax Director, you will secure the continuity and quality of day-to-day accounting operations while supporting the monthly and annual close.

The role also offers the opportunity to contribute to the transformation of the Finance function, particularly through the identification, testing and adoption of relevant automation and AI use cases. The successful candidate will combine strong accounting expertise with a pragmatic, hands‑on approach to process improvement and change management.

Key responsibilities

Accounts Payable and Procure-to-Pay

• Own and coordinate the end-to-end Procure-to-Pay process, from supplier creation and invoice receipt through to validation, booking and payment.
• Coordinate the Accounts Payable team and ensure timely processing of invoices across Mirakl’s entities.
• Monitor invoice workflows, approvals, purchase orders, blocked invoices and outstanding supplier balances.
• Review invoice coding, supporting documentation and accounting treatment, and act as an escalation point for complex supplier issues.
• Coordinate payment runs and ensure that payment files are prepared accurately and in line with internal approval procedures.
• Maintain robust controls over vendor master data, bank details, payment approvals and segregation of duties.

Accounting operations and close support

• Support the Accounting & Tax Director in the coordination of the monthly and annual close process.
• Review AP-related cut-off and other accounting entries.
• Monitor the reconciliation and clean-up of relevant balance sheet accounts and support the review of intercompany transactions.
• Coordinate with local accounting firms and external service providers across Mirakl’s international perimeter.
• Contribute to audit preparation and respond to requests from external auditors and other stakeholders.
• Ensure that accounting evidence, procedures and control documentation are complete, accessible and up to date.

Finance transformation, automation and AI

• Contribute to Mirakl’s Finance AI transformation roadmap by identifying high-value use cases within AP, Procure-to-Pay and accounting operations.
• Participate in discovery phases, workshops and experiments aimed at improving invoice processing, data quality, reconciliations, reporting and operational support.
• Help assess and test AI-enabled workflows, automation solutions and Finance agents, working closely with Finance, Data and other stakeholders.
• Translate operational requirements into clear process, data and control requirements for automation and AI initiatives.
• Support the adoption of new tools by documenting processes, defining operating guidelines, monitoring results and helping teams embed new ways of working.
• Remain attentive to data quality, confidentiality traceability, human oversight and appropriate controls when using AI in Finance processes.

Candidate profile

• 8+ years of experience in accounting, finance operations or accounting management
• Previous experience as an Accounting Manager, Deputy Accounting Director
• Experience in a multi-entity, international environment; experience in a fast-growing technology or SaaS company is a strong advantage.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, closing processes, cut-off, reconciliations and internal controls.
• Experience working with external accounting firms and international subsidiaries.
• Strong knowledge of ERP and finance systems
• Interest in Finance transformation, automation and AI, with the ability to translate operational needs into practical use cases.
• Autonomous, hands‑on and solution-oriented, with excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills.
• Fluent English required; French is a strong advantage.
