Large-scale transformation, mass migrations, complex application architectures, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Big Data are our trade. We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to focus on Supply Chain engagements for Energy & Utilities customers, bridging traditional supply chain systems with modern cloud architecture to create scalable solutions that enhance visibility, efficiency, and intelligence.

This role will be part of the AWS Energy ProServe team and requires a deep understanding of AWS technologies, data architectures, AI/ML, and the broader technology ecosystem, as well as how those technologies can optimize the end-to-end supply chain. You will engage directly with CDOs, CDAOs, CTOs, and CIOs to drive strategic data and generative AI initiatives, ensuring that AWS services align with and enhance customers’ IT and business strategies. Your expertise will help customers strengthen innovation speed, IT efficiency, and business value derived from technology investments.

AWS Global Services includes experts across AWS who help customers design, build, operate, and secure their cloud environments. Customers innovate with AWS Professional Services, upskill with AWS Training and Certification, optimize with AWS Support and Managed Services, and meet objectives with AWS Security Assurance Services. Our expertise includes AWS Partners, AWS Sovereign Cloud, AWS International Product, and the Generative AI Innovation Center. You’ll join a diverse team of technical experts in dozens of countries who help customers achieve more with the AWS cloud.

Key job responsibilities

• Strategic Direction and Development: Define and develop the overall strategic direction for AWS customers and internal AWS teams designing, building, optimizing, transforming, or migrating applications, software, and services on the AWS platform.
• Partnership: Collaborate with AWS Account Manager and ProServe Sales to accelerate innovation, account strategy, and technical execution, aligning to increase business value through cloud adoption, covering people, processes and technology.
• Executive Engagement: Engage with C-level executives to guide strategic technology initiatives and support data transformation journeys.
• Architectural Design: Participate in deep architectural discussions to design scalable AWS solutions that integrate data from multiple supply chain systems including WMS, TMS, ERP, and IoT devices.
• Relationship Management: Build relationships with senior technical stakeholders to enable them to become cloud advocates.
• Technical Architecture: Design enterprise-scale, globally distributed, highly available solutions using Compute, Container, Serverless, Storage, Analytics, Database and Network Services.
• Subject Matter Focal Point: Act as the technical focal point within the Energy & Utilities organization for key AWS supply chain services and offerings including AWS Supply Chain, SC3, and WAO.
• Hands-on Work: Work with new services including AI/ML, Serverless/Lambda, IoT, Analytics, Data Warehouse, BI and Security Services to build products and solutions with customers.
• Transformation Guidance: Guide customers through transformation journeys, translating business requirements into technical solutions in collaboration with business stakeholders.
• Engagement Delivery: Deliver on-site technical engagements with partners and customers, including pre-sales visits, requirements gathering, consulting proposals, and packaged Big Data service offerings.

A day in the life

In this role, the ideal candidate will have hands-on experience planning and executing complex data & analytics engagements, architecting and implementing complex cloud-native platforms, and providing consultancy. This experience, combined with strong business acumen, will guide and own the sales and delivery of ProServe engagements.

Qualifications

• Experience facilitating discussions with senior leadership regarding technical/architectural trade-offs, best practices, and risk mitigation.
• Knowledge of the primary AWS services (EC2, ELB, RDS, Route53, S3).
• 5+ years hands-on experience in IT implementation or leading IT projects in Architecture, Data Engineering or Development.
• Business fluent verbal and written communication skills in French and English.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional), or other specialty.
• Experience implementing services and solutions on customer projects using AWS Big Data, Analytics, AI/ML, or Data Science solutions.
• Hands-on experience leading large-scale global data warehousing and analytics projects.
• Experience designing and coding in Python or Scala or building ETL/data ingestion pipelines.
