Amatera is building the future of sustainable crops by advancing plant cell biology. We are seeking a Data Scientist to bridge plant biology and deep learning, tackling the black box of complex cellular data.

You will develop ML tools for plant cell culture, apply MLOps for production-ready solutions, and collaborate with Cell Biology and Engineering teams, reporting to the senior data scientist. This is a full-time hybrid or onsite role based in Evry.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in machine learning, AI, computer science, or related fields.
• 4+ years in developing ML solutions for computer vision applications.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and MLOps practices to ensure scalable, reliable model delivery.
• Experience in deploying ML solutions to cloud environments (AWS) is a plus.

We are looking for a Data Scientist eager to build bridges between plant cell biology and deep learning — someone who has a strong data science background and will enjoy cracking the \"black box\" of plant cell biology.

Your mission

• Develop state-of-the-art ML tools for plant cell culture.


• Apply rigorous software engineering principles and MLOps practices to guarantee that all solutions are reliable, scalable, and ready for production deployment.


• Partner with teammates in the Cell Biology and Engineering teams to identify key challenges and design innovative, AI-driven solutions.


• You will collaborate closely with and report directly to our senior data scientist.

What we’re looking for

• MSc or PhD in machine learning, AI, computer science, or related fields.


• 4+ years in developing ML solutions for computer vision applications.


• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and MLOps practices to ensure scalable, reliable model delivery.


• Experience in deploying ML solutions to cloud environments (AWS) is a plus.


• Experience with microscopy data is a plus.


• Motivated and self-driven, with a proactive, “can-do” mentality and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic start-up environment.


• Fluent in English (C1 minimum); French is a bonus, not a requirement.


• Strong teamwork, rigor, communication, and problem-solving skills.
