SMG Swiss Marketplace Group France seeks a Data Engineer to shape our data lake, analytics stack, and AI-driven data services. You will work on scalable data infrastructure across our six-country footprint from Sophia-Antipolis.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of delivering production code
• 3+ years handling large data volumes
• Strong Python programming skills
• Strong SQL and data modeling abilities
• Experience integrating data from multiple sources
• Able to collaborate across teams and navigate ambiguity
• Fluent in English (French or German a plus)

Job Description

Your Mission

As a Data Engineer in the Data Team, you will play a crucial role in shaping and contributing to the development of our data lake, analytical stack, machine learning, and data services capabilities.

This role allows you to extend and continuously improve the current data infrastructure utilizing the latest tools & technologies to address our growing AI needs while contributing to our overarching goals and mission.

Specifically, you will work on:

• Sourcing, storing, processing, and analyzing huge sets of data in a reliable, fast, and secure way.
• Defining and building the data pipelines that will enable faster, better, data-informed decision-making within the business.
• Developing, implementing, and deploying services that utilize machine learning models created by Data Scientists, ensuring they are production-ready, reliable, and scalable.
• Investigating, familiarizing, and mastering new data sets quickly.
• Driving change with a positive can-do attitude across complex and ambiguous environments.

What will you bring to the ride?

• 5+ years of experience delivering code in a production environment.
• 3+ years of experience working with large volumes of data.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
• Strong experience with programmatic integration of data from multiple data sources.
• Ability to work well across different teams and navigate ambiguity with a positive can-do attitude.
• Fluency in English (both written and verbal); knowledge of French or German is a plus.
• Capable of investigating, familiarizing, and mastering new data sets quickly.
