Overview

We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team, based in Lille, France. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation, enhancement, and troubleshooting of data pipelines, analytics platforms, and cloud-based solutions for our business users. The ideal candidate will bridge technical expertise with strong business communication skills in both French and English.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Engineering Support : Provide support for data pipelines and analytics platforms, handling incidents, service requests, and troubleshooting issues reported by business users.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve functional and technical issues related to SQL, ETL processes, and cloud data environments – Bigquery preferred.
  • Incident and Problem Management : Monitor, log, analyze, resolve, and document recurring issues
  • Stakeholder Communication : Liaise with business users to understand requirements, provide user support and training, and ensure user satisfaction with data solutions.
  • Documentation & Reporting : Prepare and maintain technical documents, functional specifications, user guides, and support logs.
  • Compliance & Security : Ensure all data processes comply with internal policies, external regulations, and data security standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Education : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience : Minimum 4 years of hands‑on experience in data engineering, including SQL and ETL pipeline development and troubleshooting.
  • Strong Experience with Google BigQuery
  • Strong technical knowledge and expertise in SQL and ETL processes (Expert – Required)
  • Proficient in CI / CD, GitHub, Terraform, and Kafka (Proficient – Important)
  • Proficient in Google Cloud Platform (GCS, BigQuery) (Proficient – Important)
  • Proficient in Power BI (DAX) (Proficient – Important)
  • Language Skills : Fluency in French and in English.
  • Analytical Skills : Strong problem‑solving abilities, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing business needs.
  • Tools & Technologies : Familiarity with ticketing / incident management tools, MS Office Suite, JIRA, ServiceNow, Confluence, and reporting tools.
  • Training & Documentation : Ability to create user-friendly documentation.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with cloud data migration or greenfield projects is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of automation tools, RPA, and interface technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
