Alibaba Cloud is seeking a Data Center Facilities Engineer in Paris to oversee safe and efficient data center operations on-site. You will manage incidents, changes, preventive maintenance, and technical optimization for critical facility systems.

Required are a bachelor’s degree and hands-on experience with electrical, HVAC, or building automation systems. French proficiency with English or Mandarin is preferred, and ACP certification is a plus.

Description du poste

As a Data Center Facilities Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of data center infrastructure within the assigned region. This role focuses on on-site execution of incident management, change implementation, preventive maintenance, technical optimization, and operational support across critical facility systems.

You Will

• Implement risk management requirements and take responsibility for the intake, classification, handling, and closure of region-level facility incidents. Coordinate with on-site vendor and first-line operators to conduct root cause analysis, define temporary mitigation measures, track permanent corrective actions, and provide timely updates to management on major incidents.
• Lead the on-site execution of change plans in data halls, including pre-change risk assessments, maintenance window coordination, and staffing arrangements. Monitor the change process to ensure rollback plans are executable, and complete post-change verification and documentation filing.
• Execute and oversee preventive maintenance and routine inspection plans for data center facilities. Monitor maintenance quality and ensure all maintenance activities are compliant and fully traceable.
• Participate in monthly operations review meetings with operators or service providers to summarize operational risks, review completed work, identify technical improvement opportunities, and define operational priorities for the following month.
• Carry out data center infrastructure safety and operational assurance requirements. Under the operational strategy and planning framework established by the facilities operations team, drive the implementation of operations and maintenance plans for the assigned data halls.
• Identify and escape on-site safety and compliance risks, support the implementation of risk management mechanisms, and be responsible for the on-site handling and closure tracking of data hall-level safety incidents.
• Execute technical optimization solutions within the assigned data halls, and track and report implementation results.
• Monitor key data center performance indicators, including energy efficiency, capacity, and reliability. Identify on-site optimization opportunities, provide improvement recommendations, and drive implementation.
• Provide on-site technical support for data center operations and maintenance activities, resolve technical issues, and contribute field input for equipment selection, technical upgrades, and retrofit projects.
• Organize on-site technical training and knowledge-sharing activities to strengthen the technical capabilities of the resident facilities engineering team.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• A degree in Electrical Engineering, HVAC, Power Electronics, Automation, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in infrastructure operations, design, or construction, with hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of major facility systems such as electrical systems, HVAC systems, and building automation/control systems.
• Familiarity with IDC infrastructure operating processes and construction architecture, with a solid understanding of routine maintenance and emergency maintenance standards and technical requirements for various facility systems.
• In-depth knowledge in one or more of the following areas: electrical systems, HVAC systems, or building automation/control systems. Alibaba Cloud Professional Certification (ACP) is preferred.
• Strong communication skills, with a proactive approach to driving day-to-day operations, maintenance, and technical assessment tasks to completion.
• Proficiency in French, together with working proficiency in English or Mandarin Chinese, is preferred.
