Siemens is hiring a Data Center - Controls Technician to install, commission, configure, test, and maintain mission-critical data center infrastructure and monitoring systems. You will work with customers, engineers, and operations teams to deploy equipment, validate configurations, and ensure uptime and efficiency across platforms.

The role requires hands-on experience with electro-mechanical systems, power monitoring, and building automation, plus flexibility for overtime and on-call duties.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in electronics or mechanical engineering preferred.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical systems or building automation.
  • Knowledge of power monitoring and data center environments is a plus.

Our Data Center - Controls Technician is responsible for the installation, commissioning, configuration, testing, operation, and maintenance of mission-critical data center infrastructure and monitoring systems. This position plays a key role in deploying new equipment, validating system configurations, supporting power monitoring solutions, and ensuring all systems operate in accordance with project specifications, operational requirements, and customer expectations.

As a technical resource, you will work closely with customers, engineers, project managers, vendors, and operations teams throughout the project lifecycle. You will support the integration of electrical power monitoring, building automation, and critical facility systems while providing expert troubleshooting, technical guidance, and exceptional customer service. Your expertise will contribute to maximizing uptime, improving operational efficiency, and supporting sustainable data center operations.

As a Controls Technician, you will:
  • Commission new distributed digital control systems on construction sites within planned timelines
  • Document commissioning details; communicates deficiencies and progress
  • Act as the Lead Technician and plan work with Team Leader
  • Network technologies: Perform data back-up from data servers andcreateautomated back-up procedures. Troubleshoot and resolve inconsistencies in the functions or sequence of operationsConfigures PC workstations and user interfaces. Confirm proper network performance
  • Operational testing, verification, and acceptance: Run routine reports to review system operation Perform final inspection, testing and customer acceptance. Provide customer trainingonsystem operations. Complete andsubmitroutine written reports. Provide plans and control system documents to engineering for as-built drawings
  • Project site communication and coordination: Coordinate trade contractors to perform startup services
  • Work Overtime as needed (Compressed schedule performance can be a factor and will require extended hours to meet commitments)
  • Work Rotational On-Call and/or Minimal Overnight Travel
  • Submitaccuretime and expense reports
  • Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures
  • Support configuration and validation of power monitoring and metering systems, including basic verification of electrical measurements and system data accuracy.
  • Assist in troubleshooting data collection, alarm functionality, and system performance across integrated building and power monitoring platforms.

You will make an impact with these qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience with Electro-mechanical systems and user PC/software (either ina previousrole or through education)
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, including power distribution and metering concepts.
  • Exposure to networked system architectures and data-driven platforms used for monitoring and reporting system performance.
  • Demonstratedon-the-jobexperiencewith:
  • Integration oflow voltagebuilding sub-systemsindustry protocols, such as LON, BACnet, N2, Modbus, etc.
  • Reading, understanding, and interpreting design and construction documents
  • Abilityand willingnessto work in a variety of circumstances, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high liftequipment,working in ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, above ceilings, and in various conditions
  • Must be able to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet as well as able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted
  • Must be able to work overtime andon-callas needed
  • Must be 18 years of age andpossessa valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements toparticipatein Siemens' fleet vehicle program
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED;Associate or Bachelor’sdegree inelectronics, mechanical engineering, or related
  • 3+ years of experience with Electro-mechanical systems and user PC/software (either ina previousrole or through education)
  • Experience working with power monitoring systems, data center environments, or critical infrastructure applications.
  • Familiarity with energy or operational analytics platforms and related system integrations.
