Job summary

Shift Technology invites interns to join its Data & AI Engineering team to design, build, and maintain AI-powered features for insurers. The role emphasizes collaboration with Data Scientists and cross-functional squads, aiming to deliver production-ready solutions.

You will work on end-to-end components, from architecture to deployment, with a focus on modern AI paradigms and code quality. The program offers hybrid work options and international exposure.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a Master’s degree student in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or Big Data.
• Strong technical skills in Python and OOP. Exposure to C#, Java or C++ is a plus.
• Deep technical curiosity in modern AI paradigms (LLMs, agentic workflows, ML evaluation & automation).
• Excellent engineering mindset with focus on code quality, performance, and software design.
• Must provide a 6-month internship agreement signed by school/university, starting around February 2027
• English language proficiency at fluent level is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Understand client problems with Product teams and domain experts.
• Explore state-of-the-art approaches and identify effective options for use case.
• Design solutions with Architects and AI Research Lab.
• Build and integrate features within a cross-functional squad.
• Evaluate performance, accuracy, and latency; optimize accordingly.
• Deploy features into production with forward-deployed Data Scientists.
