Job summary

Syensqo is seeking a Customer Technical Development professional to deliver expert technical support to the French market, drive new applications, and promote their polymer products. The role collaborates with R&D, Marketing and Sales to expand the Specialty Polymers business and address electrification initiatives across automotive and related sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Polymer Engineering, Materials Science, mechanical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in technical support or research in design/injection/extrusion of plastics polymers.
• Proficiency in polymer chemistry, material properties, tooling design and processing tech for target markets.
• CAÉ/Moldflow knowledge to communicate results to customers.
• Strong communication, teamwork and customer-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical expertise on existing and new applications with R&D, Marketing, Sales and external parties.
• Provide proactive technical consultation to anticipate problems and offer solutions.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers at various levels.

Job Overview

The Customer Technical Development Role is designed to provide professional and timely technical expertise to customers, to initiate and/or support the commercial team to develop new market / new application / new development, and to support the promotion of the company’s products, in order to develop the Syensco Specialty Polymers business in his/her assigned domain and area. This individual will be responsible for application development activities in the French Market, with main focus on Auto market incld. Electrification

Responsibilities

• Develop technical expertise on existing and new applications of Syensqo’s products in collaboration with R&D, Marketing, Sales and other internal functions, as well as with external parties like customers or testing institutes
• Provide proactive technical consultation and subject-matter expertise in order to anticipate problems and identify excellent technical solutions for customers and leads
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers at various levels of their organization
• Network with industry technology managers at final users and within industry associations
• Gather intelligence information on evolving market needs and technology trends
• Identify new market opportunities with existing and new customers
• Develop and present new applications to customers and leads
• Present technologies and products at technical conferences
• Train customers on the use and benefits of the products
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints
• Prepare and present technical presentations, articles, training, product databases and other technical literature/documentation for internal and external use
• Participate in other activities as assigned or requested

Education And Experience

• Min. Bachelor’s degree in Polymer Engineering, Material science, mechanical engineering or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of technical support or research experience in the fields related to Design and injection/ extrusion processing technology of Plastic Polymers .
• Profound understanding of polymer chemistry, material properties, structural part/tooling design, equipment and processing technology for targeted markets.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills-able to diagnose complex issues under pressure.
• CAE/Moldflow knowledge to communicate results to assigned customers
• Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and internal cross-functional teams with strong influencing skills.
• Highly motivative, cooperative and teamworking
• Strong business acumen (customer-oriented mindset)

Skills

• Business communication in French (native) and English: Good communication skills with global customers and colleagues
• Computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

• Competitive salary and benefits package
• The France base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is 75 000€ to 90 000€ per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives. 16, or more, weeks of maternity/paternity and co-parenting leave, according to local regulations
