The CEA, in collaboration with the CNRS, has launched SupraFusion, a 50-million-euro exploratory scientific program focused on high-critical-temperature (HTc) superconducting technologies.
The goal of this ambitious program is to stimulate the development of this technology in France, with a view to the numerous economic and societal benefits it could generate in various fields such as energy (thermonuclear fusion, wind power), medicine (medical imaging), and transportation (superconducting motors).
As part of this large-scale scientific project, the CEA plans to conduct several R&D campaigns on high-temperature superconducting (HTS) conductors, samples, and magnets by testing them at cryogenic temperatures (from 4 K to 77 K). To strengthen the current team, the CEA is seeking a technician specialized in the upgrading, development, and operation of a cryogenic test station.
Your responsibilities will include:
You have a high school diploma or a bachelor’s degree. You enjoy working in multidisciplinary teams. You have previous experience working on experiments or test benches. You are able to adapt and learn in a cutting-edge scientific environment. You are organized, self-reliant, proactive, and meticulous, and you have excellent interpersonal skills and a strong team spirit.
BTS, IUT, Bachelor’s Degree, BUT in Physical Measurements

The Department of Accelerators, Cryogenics, and Magnetism (DACM) is part of the Institute for Research on the Fundamental Laws of the Universe (Irfu) within the CEA’s Directorate of Fundamental Research. It is located at the Saclay Center. These facilities have been renovated and consolidated into a large complex called “the Synergium,” which covers an area of 25,000 m². The DACM, which is home to 90 research engineers and 40 technicians, is tasked with carrying out, in collaboration with the national and international scientific community, to conduct world-class research and development in the fields of particle accelerators, cryogenic systems, and superconducting magnets for fundamental research. For many years, it has played a major role in the construction of the high-tech instruments required for this research.
