Description du poste

About EURELITE

EURELITE is developing next-generation Advanced Modular Reactor (AMR) technologies to support a cleaner, safer, and more resilient energy future.

Location & Working Arrangement

EURELITE is currently building its global engineering presence. The company’s Paris office is expected to open in 2027. Until then, international candidates joining for on-site positions will initially work as part of our Beijing-based China engineering team during the first year.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Control Rod Engineer (Reactivity Control Systems Engineer) to join our reactor development team and contribute to the design, analysis, and integration of advanced reactor reactivity control systems.

This role provides an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of Advanced Modular Reactor (AMR) technology, focusing on Control Rod Drive Mechanism (CRDM) development, neutron absorber systems, precision actuation, dynamic modeling, and reactor safety system integration.

The successful candidate will apply expertise in mechanical design, mechatronics, control systems, nuclear reactor engineering, and high-fidelity simulation methods to develop reliable and safety-critical reactor shutdown and reactivity control technologies.

You will collaborate closely with reactor physics, instrumentation & control (I&C), reactor vessel, materials, thermal-hydraulics, and safety analysis teams to support integrated reactor design and qualification.

Key Responsibilities
Control Rod & CRDM Design
  • Design and optimize Control Rod Drive Mechanisms (CRDMs), reactor internals, and neutron absorber assemblies.
  • Perform engineering analysis of control rod structures, absorber materials, and actuation mechanisms under high-temperature and high-radiation reactor environments.
  • Support the development of reactivity control and reactor shutdown systems for advanced nuclear reactors.
Kinematic & Dynamic Modeling
  • Develop high-fidelity kinematic and dynamic models for control rod motion, including:
    • Control rod insertion and withdrawal behavior
    • Scram (rapid shutdown) dynamics
    • Stepping and positioning accuracy
    • Transient response analysis
  • Perform simulation and optimization using engineering tools such as MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent modeling platforms.
  • Analyze:
    • Drop time performance
    • Motion accuracy
    • Mechanical wear and lifecycle reliability
System Integration & Engineering Interface Management
  • Define and manage mechanical, electrical, and thermal interface requirements between:
    • Control Rod Drive Mechanism (CRDM)
    • Reactor pressure vessel head
    • Reactor Protection System (RPS)
    • Reactor core and fuel assembly systems
  • Ensure compatibility between reactivity control hardware and:
    • Core physics requirements
    • Fuel assembly boundaries
    • Reactor safety functions
Engineering Documentation & Testing
  • Prepare technical design packages, engineering specifications, manufacturing documentation, and safety analysis materials.
  • Develop and execute:
    • Component qualification test plans
    • Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
    • Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
  • Support design verification, testing, and performance validation of reactivity control components.
