Bank of America is seeking a Compliance and Operational Risk Specialist at Vice President level to join the EU COR RQM team in Paris or Dublin. The role is focused on the second line of defence, delivering GCOR programme elements and maintaining governance across European entities.

You will lead data-driven risk analyses, challenge outputs, and help ensure adherence to internal policies and EU supervisory expectations, while collaborating with 1LOD/2LOD colleagues and stakeholders across regions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 2LOD / Operational Risk experience required.
  • Global risk management experience preferred.
  • Experience commensurate with VP-level responsibilities is expected.

Responsabilités

  • Deliver GCOR programme elements at legal entity level with independent data analysis and governance.
  • Perform and challenge data analysis for risk identification, SPI, RCSA, risk scenerios and regulatory deliverables.
  • Prepare governance materials for risk committees and regulators; escalate non-compliance timely.
  • Collaborate with 1LOD/2LOD to execute EU COR RQM programme across European entities.

Role Description:

This role sits within the EU Compliance & Operational Risk (COR) Risk Quantification & Measurement (RQM) Team, responsible for the delivery of legal-entity level GCOR programme elements across European legal entities: BofA Europe DAC and BofASE SA. The EU COR RQM Team operates within the second line of defence (2LOD), in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and executes a suite of inter-connected processes which deliver internal and external regulatory deliverables, through collaboration with 1LOD and 2LOD partners, and with direct accountability to Legal Entity Risk Leadership and C-Suite Stakeholders.

The role operates within the second line of defence (2LOD) and is responsible for executing, reviewing, and challenging operational risk frameworks and outputs across key regulatory programmes in alignment with internal policies and EU supervisory expectations

This job involves the identification, escalation, and timely mitigation of compliance and operational risks in the European Legal Entities BofASE SA and BofA Europe DAC covered, in alignment with the Global Compliance Risk Management Enterprise Policy, the Operational Risk Management Enterprise Policy and the Compliance and Operational Risk Management Program and Standard Operating Procedures, amongst others.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver on key GCOR programme elements in a timely manner, at a legal entity level through independent data analysis, operational risk management execution, and completion of all associated administrative requirements, ensuring execution in adherence with internal policies, procedures, regulatory expectations, and supervisory standards.
  • Key examples of Operational Risk programme elements may include, but are not limited to, execution of:
  • Risk Identification Inventory (Risk ID) Analysis
  • Single Process Inventory (SPI) Analysis
  • Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)
  • Operational Risk Scenario Analysis
  • Capital Adequacy Assessment (ICAAP)
  • Stress Testing Assessment (ICAAP & Regulatory Ad Hoc)
  • Recovery and Resolution Planning (RRP)
  • Risk Appetite Statement & GCOR Metric Execution
  • LE Governance (Reporting/Presentation of programme outcomes)
  • Develop and maintain a clear understanding of key applicable EU laws, rules, and regulations applicable to various Operational Risk programme elements
  • Maintain and evolve associated Operational Risk programme standard operating/desktop procedures, ensuring adherence to internal policies, regulatory expectations, and supervisory standards
  • Manage administration of associated Operational Risk programme SPI Records, ensuring accurate and timely reflecting of all process activities, risks, metrics, and controls in accordance with internal policies and procedures
  • Execute controls designed to maintain oversight on Operational Risk process execution
  • Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile variances and present complex data in a coherent manner and tailored to various audiences. Perform analysis and challenge of data and evidence, interrogating data for consistency, accurate, and completeness in execution of 2LOD GCOR Review & Challenge responsibilities
  • Contribute to the preparation and delivery of key legal entity Governance materials for various operational risk programme deliverables including submissions to Risk, Management, and Board level committees as well as to European regulators
  • Escalate any observed instances of non-compliance to internal policies/procedures, and/or instances of unmitigated operational risk in a clear and timely manner
  • Collaborate effectively with 1LOD/2LOD partners and stakeholders across the region and Enterprise in order to execute the EU COR RQM programme of work

While prior experience of operational risk topics is desirable, all necessary technical training will be provided within the team. Accordingly, a candidate without prior operational risk experience, but who demonstrates initiative, accuracy, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and an aptitude for strategic thinking will be well suited to the role and the team.

  • Global risk management experience

  • Advanced PowerPoint and presentation skills, with the ability to create high-impact materials for senior leadership, governance committees, or regulatory submissions
  • Proven ability to translate complex information into clear, structured, and meaningful conclusions to facilitate risk management decisions
  • High degree of attention to detail, with a mindset of data-based analysis and decision making, supported by audit-traceability/evidencing
  • Proven ability to work under pressure in a collaborative team environment
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness
  • Critical thinking with the ability to anticipate and pivot to evolving priorities
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and accountability
