Description du poste

Groupe Gruau, a multi-specialist vehicle body manufacturer and the European leader in utility vehicle bodywork, is renowned in its markets for its innovation capabilities and expertise in the design, manufacturing, and marketing of global transport solutions (16 production sites in France and abroad, 1,400 employees). Groupe Gruau asserts its commitment as a "responsible" employer with a professional equality and quality of life at work policy based on valuing all talents and fostering professional fulfillment.

Your responsibilities

Reporting to the Sheet Metal Activity Manager, you ensure the smooth running of the workshop, both in operating CNC machines and in the day‑to‑day coordination of the team. As a hands‑on operational team member, you ensure that safety, quality and lead‑time objectives are met, while actively contributing to continuous improvement in performance.

In practical terms, your main responsibilities will be as follows:

CNC OPERATOR:
  • Prepare production by reviewing the manufacturing file, understanding the specific requirements of each part, and checking that materials comply before start‑up.
  • Install the required tooling and load the program onto the CNC machine to ensure precise settings and an optimal start‑up.
  • Produce the first part with rigor to validate bending compliance, then ensure series production by monitoring quality and production pace.
  • Check that the parts produced comply, carry out regular inspections, and intervene quickly if any deviation or defect is detected.
TEAM LEADER ROLE:
  • Organise and lead the team on a daily basis, ensuring task allocation and continuity of production.
  • Support new starters by providing on‑the‑job training and ensuring their skills development.
  • Ensure compliance with rules and monitor the application of safety instructions and proper use of PPE, while raising the team’s awareness of best practices.
  • Record and analyse performance indicators, and actively contribute to SQCD initiatives, alerting the Activity Manager in the event of an issue.
  • Put forward action ideas, take part in QRQC, and organise activities related to 5S and NILRR (first‑level maintenance); you are able to carry out autonomous maintenance in your area.

The position is worked on a 2x8 shift pattern, alternating between morning and afternoon teams and/or night shifts depending on activity.

Candidate profile

With a technical or industrial background, proficiency in reading technical drawings is essential. You have proven experience in a production environment, ideally gained in a team‑leading role or as a shop‑floor referent. On a personal level, you are recognised for your rigour, organisational skills and ability to stay focused on technical tasks. Autonomous, you do not hesitate to take initiative and to apply analytical thinking to resolve any issues encountered on your press brake. As a team leader, you demonstrate hands‑on leadership and excellent interpersonal skills. Shop‑floor oriented and driven by team spirit, you can analyse situations, raise the alarm when necessary and propose improvement actions, while remaining attentive to safety, quality and performance challenges.

This position is open to people with disabilities. As a disability‑friendly company, we will support you throughout your onboarding journey and throughout your experience within Groupe Gruau.
