Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking interns to join our Highway Engineering team in our Grand Rapids, MI office for Summer 2026! This posting is specifically for Civil Engineering students in the U.S. that have an interest in Highways, Roadways, and Transportation Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Assist project engineer to perform engineering calculations.
• Draft engineering plans by CAD programs following project engineer’s directions.
• Address project engineer’s plan review comments.
• Collaborate with technical and design staff to complete billable real-time client work.
• Work alongside junior and senior level engineers to execute project deadlines.
• Network with current Colliers Engineering & Design professionals and gain real-life experience in consulting.
• Work across multiple disciplines with other interns and professional staff.
• Participate in the work-centered program and additional programming to learn about other areas of the business and develop communication and networking skills.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a related-engineering program from a university or college physically located in the United States.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
• Highly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• CADD program (AutoCAD or Microstation) experience is .
• Transportation Engineering II is plus.
• Prior experience and great communication skills is a plus.
• Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
