Civil Designer
Location: Nashua, NH or Burlington, MA (Greater Boston Area). Company: IMEG, a 100% employee‑owned design consulting firm.

The role is open to qualified candidates who can lead civil design effort as a project manager or lead engineer on low‑to‑moderate complexity projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead design efforts for civil site design projects for commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed‑use projects.
- Utilize engineering software (primarily Civil 3D) and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations in accordance with code requirements and IMEG standards.
- Direct and train Civil Design Technicians on reports, exhibits, plans, specifications, and permit applications.
- Prepare and oversee permit applications for municipalities, coordinating with clients and the team.
- Manage projects through bidding and construction administration phases.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions.
- Interact with clients to understand needs, gather requirements, and communicate technical information.
- Plan, budget, and schedule tasks to meet project deadlines and objectives.
- Document design decisions and monitor project progress relative to percent complete and expenditures.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in civil engineering.
- Ensure safety and regulatory compliance in all engineering work.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions aligned with project goals.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Proficient with industry‑standard engineering software, especially Civil 3D.
- Experience with pipe networking and road corridors.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to apply civil engineering principles.
- Ability to train, mentor, and lead less experienced staff.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Collaborative, team‑oriented approach.
- Attention to detail and problem‑solving ability.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Willingness to travel up to 10% and stay overnight occasionally.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
- Engineer‑In‑Training (EIT) certification.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the building design consulting industry.
- Alternative: Associates degree or certificate in Autodesk Civil 3D (or equivalent) plus 7 years of experience in building design consulting or construction industry.

Salary and Benefits
- Salary Range: $74,000–$98,000 (varies by location and qualifications).
