A private equity-backed life sciences organisation is looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the executive leadership team. You will oversee financial strategy and operations, manage budgeting and compliance with French regulations, and support growth initiatives. Ideal candidates will have senior finance leadership experience and a strong track record in P&L management. This strategic role offers a unique opportunity to lead the financial direction of a high-growth organisation.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a senior finance leader within life sciences, biopharma, or R&D services sectors.
  • Strong track record managing full P&L responsibility in PE-backed environments.
  • Deep knowledge of French financial regulation, tax, and labour frameworks.

Hartmann Young are partnering with a private equity–backed life sciences organisation to appoint an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive leadership team.

The CFO will be responsible for leading all financial operations, providing strategic and operational leadership across finance, accounting, and compliance. This role will oversee financial planning, reporting, and performance management, while ensuring strong governance and collaboration with key external stakeholders including auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities :
  • Lead all aspects of financial strategy, reporting, and control across the organisation.
  • Partner with the CEO and investors to drive growth, profitability, and value creation.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and P&L oversight for a multi-service, international business.
  • Ensure compliance with French regulations, tax authorities, and work council requirements.
  • Support strategic initiatives, M&A activity, and integration projects.
  • Build and develop a high-performing finance function aligned with company objectives.
Ideal Candidate Profile :
  • Proven experience as a senior finance leader within the life sciences, biopharma, or R&D services sectors.
  • Strong track record managing full P&L responsibility and working in PE-backed environments.
  • Deep knowledge of French financial regulation, tax, and labour frameworks.
  • Commercially minded with excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
