Job summary

Orasio is seeking a senior software engineering leader to own the forensic vertical end to end. You will shape architecture, technical roadmap and delivery, working closely with investigators to turn video evidence into usable, legally sound outputs.

You will lead a small squad of engineers across React frontends, FastAPI backends and ML-enabled pipelines, delivering on-premise and air-gapped deployments with strict security and compliance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with ownership of production systems.
• Proven experience leading engineering of a product/platform end to end.
• Track record of making architecture decisions with long-term impact.
• Hands-on leadership of a small engineer team.
• Backend experience with Python and FastAPI.
• Database experience with PostgreSQL at scale.
• Frontend expertise in React and TypeScript, maintainable UI code.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, async programming and event-driven systems.
• Able to communicate with non-technical users in high-stakes settings.
• Familiar with AI tooling for developer experience.
• Fluency in French and English.
• Eligible for required security clearances, including NATO levels.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture, technical roadmap and delivery for the forensic vertical.
• Lead a squad of engineers; collaborate with Product Lead and stakeholders.
• Design scalable, fast, auditable solutions for video investigations.
• Build fullstack features across React frontends and FastAPI backends.
• Develop ingestion pipelines for large volumes of heterogeneous video.
• Create multi-camera/workflow capabilities: search, timeline reconstruction, correlation, geospatial views, playback.
• Surface ML outputs and ensure verifiability by investigators.
• Enable reporting and export features and integration with third-party systems.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR, Law Enforcement Directive and EU AI Act.
