This Position Reports To

Senior Engineering Manager

Position Overview

As a Chemical Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed, and you will support ABB's operations while enhancing personal education and employment opportunities.

The work model for the role is onsite/hybrid in Bartlesville, OK.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with various teams to support ABB’s operations, ensuring effective coordination and timely project completion within the defined timelines.
  • Leverage insights about customer needs and ABB’s offerings to identify suitable solutions for clients, leading to project results that meet customer expectations.
  • Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and other collaborative efforts.
  • Seek feedback and guidance from manager and team members to improve performance and skills.
  • Follow specific instructions of supervisor or senior Chemist to perform the less complex professional assignments requiring application of standard engineering principles and practices.
  • Use computers and selected programs for tasks such as preparing reports and conducting analyses.
  • Set up Gas Chromatograph applications and verify separations when testing GC columns.
  • Follow all chemical lab safety procedures.
  • Make simple blends for GC testing.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering in the United States.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions.
  • Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Exhibit the capability to manage several tasks at once while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Collaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress.

The hourly rate is determined by qualifications, graduation year, and experience. This position is expected to pay between $20–$34 per hour.
