Earthworks Superintendent (M/F)
To support the successful delivery of a major international construction project in a challenging environment, we are looking for an experienced
This position will be based abroad in a demanding and remote environment, with regular interaction with site teams and project stakeholders.
Reporting to the Construction Manager, your main responsibilities will include :
- Lead and oversee earthworks activities across the Project, ensuring safe, efficient and timely execution.
- Manage large-scale earthworks operations including site preparation, excavation, cut & fill, embankment construction, grading and compaction works.
- Coordinate construction activities with engineering, survey, quality, environmental, logistics and interface teams.
- Supervise contractors, subcontractors and construction resources to achieve safety, quality, productivity and schedule objectives.
- Monitor construction progress, equipment utilisation, production performance and resource requirements, implementing corrective actions when required.
- Ensure compliance with geotechnical recommendations, engineering specifications, quality standards, environmental requirements and approved construction methodologies.
- Manage project interfaces
- Identify and mitigate construction risks, contribute to planning and forecasting activities, and provide regular reporting on project performance and progress.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in laboratory and field testing of soils, aggregates and concrete.
- Previous experience managing a construction materials laboratory.
- Strong team leadership and people management skills.
- Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 requirements; knowledge of Australian and NSW RMS standards would be an advantage.
- Experience preparing and reporting certified laboratory test results.
- Strong planning, prioritisation and organisational abilities.
- Knowledge of WHS compliance and risk management requirements.
- Experience working with laboratory testing equipment and associated software tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Resilient, adaptable and capable of working in remote and demanding environments.
- Good command of English is essential.
