Third Space Design | Build is seeking a Landscape Designer to oversee all design aspects for new projects, guiding site designs from initial client meetings to 2D and 3D concept plans. The role includes creating construction details and collaborating with the Foreman and homeowners on design questions.

You will ensure designs meet city codes for permitting, perform onsite inspections, and manage material reception and site layout, while maintaining high-quality, client-focused outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Design, Landscape Architecture, Horticulture or equivalent experience.
• Experience in the landscape/construction industry with designs of rock gardens, decks, paths, walls, ponds and waterfalls.
• Capable of using DynaScape, AutoCAD, 3D render software.
• Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Time management skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints/specifications.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, tools and equipment for landscape/construction.
• Speak, read, and write English; Spanish a plus.
• Carry and use a smartphone/data-enabled device for reporting.

Responsabilités

Job Summary

• The Landscape Designer is responsible for overseeing all aspects of design work for new projects. This person will manage site designs from the initial onsite client meetings, to creating 2D and 3D concept plans for the project. All detail drawings, construction drawings, etc will be done by the landscape designer.
• The designer will work with local city code departments to ensure all designs meet city codes for permitting and construction.
• The designer will perform onsite inspections and assist with receiving project materials, site layout, and any design related questions the Foreman or Home Owners may have during the project.

Job Duties

• Create jobsite layout and designs for pools, patios, decks, pergolas, and landscaping
• Create 2D & 3D designs
• Create construction details for all aspects of the project
• Assist with site layout of new projects
• Perform on-site quality check meetings to ensure project is being built per plan
• Work directly with Foreman to address any questions or issues regarding design
• Be onsite to help receive and inspect plant material and hardscape material
• Assist in the preparation of job sites prior to the beginning of a project
• Participate in recruitment activities by conducting secondary interviews with potential job candidates
• Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and specifications to delegate/complete work activities
• Complete and submit all required paperwork on a daily basis
• Comply with all company policies and regulations Ensure that all work activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, and that all crew members are in compliance with government and company PPE standards
• Enforce and work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations at shop/yard and on jobsites
• Employee training Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner

Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Landscape Design, Landscape Architecture, Horticultor or equivalent experience
• Experience in the landscape/construction industry, including working experience in the designs of rock gardens, decks, fieldstone paths, stone garden walls, fences, ornamental ponds, fountains and waterfalls, retaining walls, and paver, and pools is a plus
• Capable of using DynaScape, AutoCAD, 3D Render Software
• Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
• Time management skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
• Must possess a valid driver's license
• Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required to complete various landscape/construction practices
• Speak, read, and write English, Spanish speaking is a plus
• Carry and use a smart phone or data-enabled device for communication and reporting

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position. Employee will be working indoors/outdoors. The work day starts at the Third Space office. Hours will typically be 40 per week, Monday to Friday.
