Jobtailor seeks a senior Biomethane Business Developer to grow the methane program in France. You will identify opportunities, structure deals, and close investments in anaerobic digestion plants, coordinating with developers, landowners and local authorities. English is preferred, with travel across France as needed.

You will lead negotiations, assess feasibility, support financial modeling, and engage with stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and partnerships.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in biomethane, anaerobic digestion or related agricultural sectors.
• Ability to identify opportunities, negotiate, structure and deliver projects.
• Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills for wide stakeholder engagement.
• Self-motivated, entrepreneurial and pragmatic approach.
• English proficiency; another European language is a plus.
• Valid Category B driving licence.

• Contribute to economic modeling and financial structuring with technical and finance teams.
• Lead negotiations with developers, partners, and landowners; participate in approvals.
• Represent the company at trade shows, conferences and industry events; build a network of suppliers and operators.
• Maintain regulatory intelligence and monitor competitive landscape.

Responsibilities

• Develop the biomethane business in France, from opportunity identification through transaction closing and investment decision-making
• Source investment, acquisition, and co-development opportunities for anaerobic digestion plants producing 20–75 GWh per year
• Assess technical, regulatory, land, and feedstock feasibility and potential
• Initiate and maintain relationships with project developers and local stakeholders
• Secure land rights, feedstock supplies, and spreading plans
• Verify grid connection feasibility and technical constraints
• Contribute to economic modeling and financial structuring alongside the technical and finance teams
• Lead negotiations with project developers, partners, and landowners
• Participate in approval and investment committees
• Manage post-transaction relationships and ensure the successful execution of partnerships
• Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events
• Build a network of construction companies, network operators, agricultural chambers, and feedstock suppliers
• Maintain ongoing competitive and regulatory intelligence

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in biomethane, anaerobic digestion, or the agricultural sector
• Higher education qualification in agriculture, engineering, business, or a related field
• Ability to identify opportunities, negotiate, structure, and successfully deliver projects
• Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders
• Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and pragmatic approach
• Proficiency in English preferred; an additional European language would be an advantage
• Valid Category B driving licence required
