Job Overview

You’ll join the team behind Riot’s flagship product, Awareness. Awareness is a chat‑based learning experience delivered in Slack, Teams, Google Chat, or email. The role focuses on delivering chat‑based content at scale, modeling organizational hierarchies, and building authoring tools alongside product managers and designers.

Responsibilities

• Ship new Awareness features end‑to‑end.
• Build robust systems that serve millions of learners and thousands of admin users reliably.
• Organize the backend code base and shape the standards the team follows.
• Research, pitch, and prototype solutions to hard problems.
• Write and review code using AI tools (Claude Code, Codex). Leverage tool integrations (Linear, Notion, GitHub) to embed AI into the workflow.
• Build and improve internal automation pipelines.

Technical Environment

• Backend: Elixir, Phoenix, PostgreSQL, Oban, LiveView.
• Ops: AWS, Terraform, Datadog, Sentry.
• Frontend: Vue 3, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Cypress.
• AI Tooling: Claude Code, Codex, Cubic.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of production experience building backend applications.
• Comfortable working with SQL and relational data modeling.
• Experienced with AI coding tools.
• Strong collaboration skills: give and receive feedback, prioritize shipping on time.
• Motivated by the mission; background in cybersecurity not required.
• Experience with Elixir/Phoenix is a plus.
• Based in Paris or willing to relocate.
