Vates, a French software company specializing in Open Source and virtualization, develops Xen Orchestra and XCP-ng, covering the full virtualization stack from hypervisor to backup. The team operates in a fully remote model and English is the required language, with international collaboration across time zones.

You will work on backend features with Node.js and TypeScript, build REST APIs, and ensure quality through automated tests, documentation, and compliant security practices.

Formación

• Backend development with Node.js + TypeScript.
• REST API development and integration.
• Knowledge of database management.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Fluent English and collaboration in an international environment.
• 3–5 years of experience; Bachelor’s to Master’s in CS.

Responsabilidades

• Develop new backend features per product specs.
• Maintain existing code with corrective and evolutionary changes.
• Write and maintain automated tests (unit, integration).
• Provide advanced technical support to users and internal teams.
• Contribute to technical and user documentation.

Job Description

Vates is a French software company specializing in Open Source and virtualization, with a strong commitment to open and collaborative development. Our main projects, Xen Orchestra and XCP-ng, cover the entire virtualization stack — from the hypervisor (Xen) and the virtualization platform (XCP-ng) to virtual machine management and backup (Xen Orchestra). Our company operates in an international environment, working fully remotely, fluent English required.

Your Responsibilities

• Participate in the development of new backend features in line with product specifications
• Ensure corrective and evolutionary maintenance of existing code
• Write and maintain automated tests (unit, integration)
• Provide advanced technical support to users and internal teams
• Contribute to the writing and updating of technical and user documentation
• Ensure compliance with security, performance, and software quality standards
• Participate in defining functional and technical specifications in collaboration with product teams
• Contribute to the improvement of development tools, procedures, and practices

Requirements
