Vates is a French software company specializing in Open Source and virtualization, with a strong commitment to open and collaborative development. Our main projects, Xen Orchestra and XCP-ng, cover the entire virtualization stack — from the hypervisor to VM management and backup.

We operate in a fully remote model, with offices in Grenoble or Paris. This backend role focuses on Node.js/TypeScript, REST APIs, cloud and container tech, and collaboration with product teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience.
• Fluent English.

Responsabilités

• Develop backend features in line with product specifications.
• Maintain and fix existing code with corrective and evolutionary changes.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests.
• Provide technical support to users and internal teams.
• Contribute to the writing and updating of technical and user documentation.
• Ensure compliance with security, performance, and software quality standards.
• Collaborate with product teams to define specs.
• Improve development tools, procedures, and practices.

Vates is a French software company specializing in Open Source and virtualization, with a strong commitment to open and collaborative development. Our main projects, Xen Orchestra and XCP‑ng, cover the entire virtualization stack — from the hypervisor (Xen) and the virtualization platform (XCP‑ng) to virtual machine management and backup (Xen Orchestra). Our company operates in an international environment, working fully remotely, fluent English required.

Your Responsibilities

• Participate in the development of new backend features in line with product specifications
• Ensure corrective and evolutionary maintenance of existing code
• Write and maintain automated tests (unit, integration)
• Provide advanced technical support to users and internal teams
• Contribute to the writing and updating of technical and user documentation
• Ensure compliance with security, performance, and software quality standards
• Participate in defining functional and technical specifications in collaboration with product teams
• Contribute to the improvement of development tools, procedures, and practices
