Ascendance in Toulouse is seeking an avionics systems engineer to develop end-to-end functions for the ATEA program. You will contribute across the full V-cycle with multiple disciplines and aim to achieve prototype Permit to Fly while ensuring safe flight operations and development of the serial aircraft.

You will lead requirements cascade, handle evolutions and fixes, prepare lab and flight-test procedures, and manage supplier discussions. Fluency in French and English is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in aerospace systems engineering, including requirements-based engineering.
• Strong coordination skills in complex development environments.
• Experience with DAL A/B/C constraints and avionics architectures.
• Familiarity with ARP4754 processes and safety engineering basics.
• Fluent in French and English.

Responsabilités

• Lead function definition, development and integration through the requirements cascade.
• Lead evolutions and fixes for assigned systems and write lab/test procedures.
• Support laboratory testing and flight-test preparations; manage supplier discussions.
• Ensure configuration management and traceability per internal processes.

Your role :

Reporting directly to the Avionics System Team Leader, you will support the development of the ATEA program by developing end-to-end avionics system functions.

You will contribute across the full V-cycle with the following key objectives:

• Achieve the prototype Permit to Fly
• Ensure safe operations throughout the flight test campaign
• Develop our serial aircraft

The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including Flight Control, Propulsion, Software, V&V, Flight Test, Production, Safety, Airworthiness, and equipment suppliers.

Your main responsibilities will be :

• Lead function definition, development and integration activities through the requirements cascade
• Lead the evolutions and fixes regarding function under your responsibilities
• Write laboratory test procedures and contribute to flight test procedure preparation
• Support laboratory testing and investigation sessionsManage technical discussions and delivery follow-up with suppliers
• Ensure proper configuration management and traceability in accordance with internal processes
• Support safety and airworthiness activities

The job has been made for you if you:

• Have at least 5 years of experience in the aerospace industry, including a minimum of 3 years in systems engineering especially in Requirement Based Engineering
• Demonstrate strong coordination skills within complex development environments
• Have experience working on critical systems with DAL A, B and C constraints
• Have good knowledge of avionics architectures, systems and data communication protocols (CAN / ARINC429 / RS232&485 / AFDX)
• Are familiar with ARP4754 development processes and methods
• Have a basic understanding of safety engineering and a strong interest in the field
• Are fluent in both French and English
