Harmattan AI seeks a Flight Guidance & Motion Planning Engineer to own motion planning, trajectory generation, and guidance laws for high-speed autonomous flight. Based in Lausanne, Paris, or Zurich, you will feed references to the control loop from imperfect estimator and perception inputs.

You will evaluate learning-based vs classical methods, validate through simulations and flight tests, and mentor junior engineers to reinforce robust, real-world defense technology.

Qualifications

• Strong background in onboard motion planning, trajectory generation and tracking.
• Experience with guidance laws for flying platforms and perception-coupled control.
• Familiarity with learning-based planning vs classical approaches and validation.

Responsabilités

• Motion Planning: Plan dynamically feasible paths onboard with obstacle avoidance and replanning.
• Trajectory Generation: Convert paths into feasible references within airframe/actuator limits.
• Guidance Laws: Design laws to steer the aircraft along references and hold it there.
• Interfaces & Perception Coupling: Manage input contracts from Navigation and perception with latency/dropout handling.
• Mode & Failsafe Logic: Implement behavior across cruise, loiter, approach and lost-link scenarios.
• Flight Test & Diagnosis: Validate in simulation, SITL/HITL, and from flight logs.
• Mentorship: Support the team by mentoring junior engineers.
