Job summary

HyLight, in Île-de-France, seeks a GNC engineer to model and control the HyLighter airship, ensuring safe autonomous flight across diverse conditions. You will work with the CTO and embedded teams to implement control laws and validate through tests and simulations, delivering robust performance.

Master’s in a relevant field and 2-5 years of experience in GNC are required, with strong Simulink, Python, C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (a PhD is a plus).
• 2-5 years of professional experience in GNC within drone, aerospace, or automotive industries.
• You have been part of a GNC or Flight Dynamics team that brought a drone or aerospace product to market.
• Systems Mastery: Strong experience in modeling and control with Simulink and dynamics/automation theory.
• Programming: Python and C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink, autocoding practices.
• Embedded Software: microcontrollers, actuators, flight computers, drivers.
• Tools: PX4, MAVLINK, QGroundControl knowledge is a plus.
• Data analysis: able to extract insights from flight data.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, project management, communication, hands-on work.

Responsibilities

• Modeling & Control: design and implement control and guidance laws for mission execution.
• Robustness & Safety: develop flight strategies for difficult conditions and risk mitigation.
• Hardware Integration: debug embedded systems and implement flight computers, actuators, sensors.
• Testing & Documentation: flight tests and simulations with thorough documentation.
• Future Innovation: improve existing airships and participate in future flight solutions.
