PowerFlex is seeking an Associate Director of Solar/BESS Operations to lead day‑to‑day operations and long‑term performance of a growing portfolio of distributed energy assets. This role is part of the Asset Optimization & Customer Success team, which ensures that PowerFlex's operating projects perform in accordance with internal and external requirements, including safe operation, minimal downtime, and maximum operational and financial performance. This role owns operational excellence across C&I solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and hybrid sites, ensuring safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction while building scalable processes, systems, and teams. The position requires demonstrated experience in system implementation, process optimization, technical expertise and personnel management.
This role is open to be a hybrid role (3‑days in office) out of one of our offices (Mountain View, CA, San Diego, CA or New York, NY).
The pay range for this position is $126,090 - $154,110 annually. This position is eligible for PowerFlex's comprehensive Health and Welfare plans including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, 401(k) retirement plan and paid time off. The total compensation for this position may include an annual performance bonus (or other incentive compensation, as applicable). PowerFlex's compensation packages carefully consider a candidate's qualifications, experiences, and education in relation to the position.
Supervises a team of 3-5 staff by assigning tasks, providing guidance, and overseeing daily operations. Responsibilities include hiring, scheduling, training, performance feedback, and making recommendations on promotions, salary changes, and other employment actions.
Remaining in a seated position. Long hours on computer keyboard. Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.
Approximately 90% of the time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher and Adobe etc.), telephones, and general office equipment. Possibly 10% of the time is spent traveling to conferences or meetings or field traveling to project sites.
