Airbus Defence and Space SAS seeks a Free Space Laser Network Architect to design and implement laser-based communications networks across space, air, land and sea. You will work within CI for secure, high-speed SATCOM solutions, and engage with cross-functional teams and customers.

The role requires an Engineering degree with laser/optical specialization, experience in complex networks, and fluency in French and English, with security clearance or eligibility.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in computer networks with a specialization on Laser and Optoelectronic systems.
• Experience in complex network environments, telecom or military WANs.
• Ability to design and deliver technical solutions for clients.
• Knowledge of laser transmission issues and classic IP networks.
• Autonomous and eager to tackle innovative topics.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams with strong interpersonal skills.
• French negotiation level and advanced English.

Responsabilités

• Maintain a continuous technology watch with internal teams and equipment suppliers.
• Support pre-sales by educating teams and customers; propose technical solutions.
• Model solutions or proofs of concept.
• Contribute to client solution design (laser segments specification; interfaces with other system components).
• Specify evolutions of Airbus components to implement these solutions and identify new components to develop.
• Ensure maintenance of all technical documents related to proposed solutions.
• Provide support and expertise to design and IVQ system teams.
