Job summary
Alignerr is seeking a PhD-level Applied Physicist to stress-test AI models by probing quantum mechanics, electrodynamics, thermodynamics, and more, ensuring adherence to fundamental physical laws. This fully remote, hourly contract role requires rigorous scientific training and an uncompromising eye for physical truth.
Design advanced physics problems, author golden solutions, and audit AI reasoning to improve physics-informed AI behavior, with independent, asynchronous work.
Qualifications
- PhD-level expertise in physics for AI data testing and model evaluation.
- Strong analytical and mathematical derivation skills suitable for multi-step physics problems.
- Ability to communicate complex physics concepts clearly in English.
Responsibilities
- Design PhD-level, open-ended physics problems spanning classical mechanics, electrodynamics, statistical mechanics, and quantum mechanics.
- Author precise, step-by-step ground-truth solutions with correct units and constants for AI benchmarking.
- Audit AI reasoning for physical consistency and identify violations of first principles.
- Provide expert feedback to help AI systems develop physics-informed reasoning respecting conservation laws and real-world constraints.
- Work independently on asynchronous, task-based assignments.
