Job summary

OpenAI’s Applied AI Engineering team partners with leading organizations to design, build, and deploy AI systems that deliver measurable business outcomes. You will write and debug code, build evaluation systems, and guide decisions about model behavior, reliability, and governance.

This Paris-based role follows a hybrid model (3 days in the office/week) with relocation assistance for new employees. You will work across sales, product, security, and engineering teams to deliver production-grade

Qualifications

• Proven track record delivering AI/ML systems in production.
• Fluent in French and English.
• Strong Python and full AI application stack experience.
• Experience across enterprise production requirements (security, governance, reliability).
• Ability to connect technical decisions to customer workflows and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Partner with enterprise customers to translate opportunities into architectures and plans.
• Design, build, deploy AI systems delivering measurable outcomes.
• Develop prototypes, evaluation harnesses, and production accelerators.
• Decide on models, retrieval, tools, data, reliability, observability, latency, cost, safety, and governance.
• Diagnose implementation challenges and drive blockers to resolution.
• Help customers move from prototypes to production systems with sustained adoption.
• Collaborate with OpenAI teams to feed product feedback and guidance.
• Create reusable architectures, tooling, and playbooks for future deployments.
