La Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) in Paris seeks a candidate to support its Infrastructure Private Equity team, working on transactions and post-investment work across European assets. You will perform financial modelling, due diligence coordination, and assist in negotiating agreements, with exposure to large-scale projects and sector studies.

Bachelor’s or Master’s in finance/engineering; up to three years’ experience; fluent French and English; strong Excel and PowerPoint;

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting or engineering.
  • Master’s degree in finance or engineering (MBA, MSC, etc.), an asset.
  • Up to three years of full-time experience in investment banking, private equity or infrastructure.

Responsabilités

  • Participate actively in analysis of investment opportunities.
  • Develop and review detailed financial models and valuation assumptions.
  • Provide advice on valuations using DCFs, multiples, etc.
  • Support due diligence processes with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead drafting of investment committee memos for new opportunities.
  • Assist in negotiations of transaction agreements and shareholding structures.
  • Prepare internal and external reports on portfolio companies.
  • Monitor market trends and regulatory developments in infrastructure.

Job Description

Within the Infrastructure Private Equity team in Paris, the successful candidate will support La Caisse’s ongoing efforts toward its business objectives by working on transactions and by supporting the post-investment work on infrastructure assets in the European portfolio. They will also assist the team in various research and strategic initiatives, while getting exposure to large-scale infrastructure projects and complex transactions.

What you will do

  • Participate actively in the analysis of investment opportunities;
  • Develop and review detailed financial models and highlight key points of the investment thesis, including performing sensitivity analyses and reviewing financial projections and valuation assumptions;
  • Provide advice on valuations of potential investments using the appropriate methodology (discounted cash flows, multiples, etc.);
  • Support coordination of in-depth due diligence processes for investment opportunities in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Lead the drafting of investment committee memos for new investment opportunities;
  • Assist senior colleagues in negotiations of transaction agreements and shareholding structures;
  • Prepare internal and external reports on portfolio companies;
  • Monitor market trends and regulatory developments affecting infrastructure investments and prepare sectoral studies on potential target markets to develop.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting or engineering;
  • Master’s degree in finance or engineering (MBA, MSC, etc.), an asset;
  • Up to three (3) years of full-time experience in investment banking, private equity or infrastructure;
  • Recent university graduates with relevant internship experience will also be considered
  • Excellent abilities in financial analysis and modelling;
  • In-depth knowledge of and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint);
  • Familiarity with sectors within infrastructure (transport, ports, airports, energy, renewables, telecoms, etc.), an asset;
  • Mastery of French and English, both spoken and written;
  • Knowledge of other European languages, an asset.
