Job summary

Mirakl is seeking an AI Research Intern in Paris to join the R&D team for a 2027 internship. You will conduct literature reviews, design routing methods to select language models, and evaluate them on real product data.

Fluent French is required; end-of-studies internship (€1,600/month) with the potential for a permanent contract and perks, including health and well-being programs. Hybrid work with up to two remote days per month.

Qualifications

• Final year of a Master’s degree (Bac+5) in applied mathematics, from an engineering school or university.
• Solid grounding in statistics, machine learning, and deep learning.
• Familiarity with data preparation techniques and feature engineering.
• Demonstrated interest in research: reading academic papers and tracking state-of-the-art models.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a structured literature review of LLM routing approaches to map the state of the art.
• Design and implement a routing method that automatically selects the most suitable language model for a given task.
• Evaluate your solution on real product data, measuring performance across quality, cost, and latency dimensions.
• Collaborate with experienced Research Engineers and Data Scientists to iterate on hypotheses and refine your approach.
• Document findings and presenting results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

AI Research Intern - 2027

1. The Team You’ll Join

You’ll be part of our R&D team, led by Robin Vaysse , Senior AI Researcher.The team consists of 5 Research Engineers embedded within a broader Data department of 70 people. Together, you’ll be pushing the boundaries of AI and machine learning to build innovative solutions that directly power Mirakl’s products.

2. Your Impact

• Conduct a structured literature review of LLM routing approaches (learned classifiers, preference-based routers, cascades) to map the state of the art
• Design and implement a routing method that automatically selects the most suitable language model for a given task
• Evaluate your solution on real product data, measuring performance across quality, cost, and latency dimensions
• Collaborate with experienced Research Engineers and Data Scientists to iterate on hypotheses and refine your approach
• Contribute to the broader R&D roadmap by documenting findings and presenting results to technical and non-technical stakeholders

3. What You’ll Bring to the Role

Experience:

• Final year of a Master’s degree (Bac+5) in applied mathematics, from an engineering school or university
